Aerowatch – Hommage 1910

Watch manufacturer AEROWATCH SA opens a new chapter by presenting its new line of timepieces dedicated to the world of aviation: the “Hommage 1910” collection.

Founded in 1910 in La Chauxde- Fonds, AEROWATCH saw itself as a symbol of modernity. The choice of an English name was an early pointer to the firm’s international ambitions and contained a reference to aviation, a world about to “take off” in a big way.

With its “Chrono-Alarm” model, the family business pays homage to a century of uninterrupted watchmaking activity and finally creates a link with its roots. To house its new creation, AEROWATCH has chosen a 44.00mm diameter steel case. This classic case with its timeless style displays certain archetypes of 1910 inspired by its pocket-watch ancestors.

It has a domed sapphire crystal on the dial side. The new “Chrono-Alarm” contains a Swiss quartz movement. In addition to the basic functions of a classic display (hours, minutes and seconds), the timepiece, as its name implies, offers a function for measuring time intervals, as well as an alarm function.

Thanks to the striking mechanism, future owners of the “Chrono-Alarm” will be able to mark out their daily activities in different ways: the length of each leg for a pilot; morning alarm, meeting, train times or parking meters for more down to earth citizens.

All information shown on the black dial of the “Chrono-Alarm” is clearly legible and is inspired by the instrument panel of civil and military aircraft.

The counter located at 9 o’clock serves simultaneously as a minute and hour counter. The alarm function is placed in the small white dial at 6 o’clock. The latter can be activated simply by pressing the black vulcanised rubber push-piece. The large yellow seconds-hand adds a distinctive sporty touch.

The black leather pilot’s strap has two steel rivets. Yellow visible stitching further accentuates the sports-chic character of the “Chrono-Alarm”.

This new creation underlines once again the firm’s resolve to offer quality products at accessible prices. This exclusive timepiece will be available from the brand’s official retailers from June 2010.
