History of Backes & Strauss

As Masters of diamonds since 1789, Backes & Strauss the world’s oldest diamond company partnered Franck Muller to launch a series of very high end diamond watches.

With over 200 years of expertise in diamond cutting and polishing, Backes & Strauss know diamonds better than anyone else.

They have perfected the ‘ideal cut’ diamond. A diamond that dazzles through its 57 perfectly proportioned facets, producing maximum fire and brilliance.

Reflecting Backes & Strauss’ London heritage and history, there are three core collections;

Berkeley, Piccadilly and Regent, each inspired by London’s Regency architecture, notably the classical proportions and bold symmetry of John Nash’ work.
