José Sousa Quartz versus Automatic:
The higher the frequency (the number of oscillations per second), the higher the accuracy, taking into account that the threshold frequency is 6 Hz in a mechanical movement, since a quartz movement reaches a frequency of 32 768 Hz. 1 Hz = 1 oscillation per second. Given these numbers: the quartz watch is always (at least) 60 times more accurate than a mechanical watch. And while a quartz watch can work well for about 15 or 20 years, a mechanical watch can run for more than 100 years, and can be passed from father to son and have great sentimental value.
