Introducing two new models from the Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai Scuderia collection: two Ferrari Rattrapante 45 mm watches, characterised by an exclusive automatic movement (calibre Panerai OP XVIII) with a 42-hour power reserve, a twin column wheel for the chronograph function and split-seconds hand.

The two models have the same functions but differ in look and outer features. The first (FER00026) has a polished steel case and bezel with brushed steel edges. The second (FER00033) introduces a novelty for the Ferrari collection, specially conceived and designed by engineers from Officine Panerai Manufacture: the case, in fact, has been treated with a special black coating with a polished and brushed finish, called DLC (Diamond Like Carbon). This innovative treatment, obtained by evaporating carbon, makes the case exceptionally shock and scratch resistant, and has even been used in the construction of certain details of Ferrari vehicles.

The two chronographs also differ in the colour scheme used for their back dial with three counters. In the steel model, the counters are in fact yellow, with a split-seconds hand in the same colour, while the hour and minute hands are baton-shaped and luminous. The DLC model, however, is distinguished by its red counters and split-seconds hand. The application of the legendary Ferrari logo beneath the classic shield, with the inscription Rattrapante beneath that again, represents an even further innovation of models from past collections.

The screw-down casebacks are also different: the first with a viewing window in sapphire crystal decorated with a metallic grid – another element whose aesthetics recalls the world of motoring – and the second in black-coated steel bearing an engraved Prancing Horse and a geometric motif decoration. The oscillating weight can be viewed through the crystal caseback of the FER00026, with its Côtes de Genève decoration and engraved Prancing Horse.

The strap of the steel model comes in black curved and stitched leather, reminiscent of car upholstery, with the underside in coloured caiman, whereas the black-cased watch has a natural rubber strap, in line with its distinctive sporty look.

Like all pieces from the Ferrari Engineered by Officine Panerai collection, the watch comes inside a precious presentation box in lacquered pear wood. The box contains a spare strap and a small precision tool for carrying out its replacement.
